Top of Europe - Jungfraujoch

Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe!!!!

The Jungfrau Railway in Switzerland, which leads through the heart of the mountains and up to the highest train station in Europe (at 3,454 meters above sea level), offers unbelievable views of the mountain giants Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and of the longest river of ice in the Alps.

The majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau summits, together with close-up views of the longest glacial flow. The Jungfrau railway travels from the heart of the mountains to Europe’s highest lying mountain station at 3454 meter altitude. From Kliene Scheidegg, the cog-wheel railway travels year-round through the tunnel and over the steep climb up to the Jungfraujoch. Two stops in the tunnel permit spectacular views of the Eiger north wall and surrounding glacier world.

Standing amidst the snow-capped mountain world, views extend from the Aletsch Glacier to the Jungfrau - and a 45-minute snow hike through the thin air direction Mönchsjoch is pefectly feasible form here.

Additional wothwhile sights include the ice scupltures on the inside of the glacier, adventurous "Sphinx" round tour, as well as the ultra-scenic "Top of Europe" glacier restaurant.

Our Magnificent India - Andaman and Nicobar Islands

‘Our Magnificent #India’ - #andaman

Andaman – A Bliss On The Earth

Welcome to Andaman the 'Land of Middle Palaeolithic’. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands have been inhabited for several thousand years, at the very least. The earlier archaeological evidence yet documented goes back some 2,200 years; however, the indications from genetic, cultural and linguistic isolation studies point to habitation going back 30,000 – 60,000 years, well into the Middle Palaeolithic.

The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites.

These islands also boast of freedom fighting days’ historically significant landmarks viz. Cellular Jail, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island, Viper Island, Hopetown and Mount Harriet. The other key tourist attractions of Andaman are - Radhanagar Beach, Havelock Island, Museum Circuit, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex, North Bay Beach, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Ross Island, Neil Island, Baratang Island, Elephant Beach, Kaala Pathar Beach, Limestone Caves, Mud Volcanoes, Red Skin Island & Port Blair (Capital)

Breathtaking Wildlife - Leopards of Jhalana.

Historically, tigers and leopards were common in the hill ranges of Rajasthan, including the Aravali range that is spread across Jaipur known as Jhalana. In the early 19th century, Jhalana was a popular hunting ground with eminent state officials being frequent visitors. The old Shikar Audhi (Hunting Palace) stands as a testament to its popularity. The last tiger was shot in 1948, and its cubs were relocated to the Jaipur Zoo. Since then, leopards have been the apex predator here.

Jhalana Safari Park is the best place to witness leopards and many other wild animals. It's a fantastic place away from the city. Enjoy a day from the hustle bustle and evidence the wildlife. You can see leopards, hyena, blue bull, deer, peacocks, monkeys and many other creatures. Come and explore the hidden wildlife area of Jaipur.

The Jhalana Leopard Reserve or Jhalana Safari Park is the Indias 1st Leopard Reserve located in Jaipur city of Rajasthan state, India. It is surrounded by Aravali hills, the oldest mountain series of India. Jhalana became a leopard reserve in 2017. The reserve is spread over an area of 20 square kilometers, with immense flora and fauna present in the park.

At present, there are 44 leopards in the park, including 31 adults and 13 cubs. Apart from leopards, the forest has various attractions such as 132 species of avifauna, 220 species of flora, 20 species of reptiles, to name a few.

Makar Sankranti - Festivals of India

We wish all of you a very Happy Makar Sankranti, Bihu , Lohri and Pongal from the Sunrise Group

Makar Sankranti or Uttarayan or Maghi or simply Sankranti, also known in Bangladesh and West Bengal as Poush Sankranti, and in Nepal as Maghe Sankranti, here means ‘transfer’, this day is considered as the transition day of Sun into the Capricorn. Now the sun moves northwards in the Hindu calendar, dedicated to the deity Surya , many native festivals are organised all over India.

Makar Sankranti is observed with social festivities such as colourful decorations, rural children going house to house, singing and asking for treats in some areas, melas (fairs), dances, kite flying, bonfires and feasts.

Every twelve years, the Hindus observe Makar Sankranti with Kumbha Mela – one of the world's largest mass pilgrimage, with an estimated 60 to 100 million people attending the event. At this event, they say a prayer to the sun and bathe at the Prayagaraj confluence of the River Ganga and River Yamuna.

Alibaug - Beauty of Maharashtra

Alibaug is a coastal town and a municipal council in Raigad District of Maharashtra, India. It is the headquarters of the Raigad district and is south of the city of Mumbai. Alibag is part of Mumbai Metropolitan Region and is situated at a distance of about 96 km from Mumbai and 143 km from Pune.

Alibag and its surrounding villages are the historic hinterlands of Bene Israeli Jews, for more than 250 years. There is a synagogue in the "Israel Ali".
Alibag houses a magnetic observatory that was set up in 1904. It serves as one of the significant observatories forming part of a global network now run by Indian Institute of Geomagnetism.

While Alibaug can be a short escape from Mumbai now, not all restaurants here are open for dine-in yet due to the pandemic situation. But some are allowing home deliveries. So, you might book a private home to unwind by the beach and bring delectable meals to the doorstep. Here is a list of few restaurants from where you can relish a hearty meal now:

1. Sanman

The restaurant, popular for its authentic Gomantak-style seafood thali, is offering deliveries in Alibaug now. There is also a resort of the brand, the Sanman Beach resort on the coast with luxurious cottages where you can stay and enjoy pomfret fry, surmai fry, galobi fry, prawns, kalwa fry and more from the restaurant.

2) Hotel Guruprasad
This restaurant offers Maharashtrian, North Indian and Chinese cuisines and the prawn koliwada from here is a must-try. One can also relish kebabs, spring rolls, malai tikkas, noodles and pulav from here. For delivery, you can either call up on the restaurant’s number or alternatively order from Zomato.

3) Kesar Khanaval Cafe
This is a hidden gem in Kashid that makes the most delicious pomfret fry. The crab masala and other Malvani curries are also lip-smacking out here. The cafe looks simple and is super affordable. It often sets charges depending on the size of the meal.
