The Kingdom of Sikkim was founded by the Namgyal dynasty in the 17th century. It was ruled by Buddhist priest-kings known as the Chogyal. It became a princely state of British India in 1890.
Modern Sikkim is a multiethnic and multilingual Indian state. The official languages of the state are English, Nepali, Sikkimese and Lepcha.
Noodle-based dishes such as thukpa, chow mein, thenthuk, fakthu, gyathuk and wonton are common in Sikkim. Momos – steamed dumplings filled with vegetables, beef or pork and served with soup – are a popular snack.
Beer, whiskey, rum and brandy are widely consumed in Sikkim, as is tongba, a millet-based alcoholic beverage that is popular in Nepal and Darjeeling.

The Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The park covers an approx area of 940 km² .The Park's landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare hardground Swamp Deer (Traditioanally known as Barasingha or Dolhorina) saving it from near extinction. Stringent conservation programs for the overall protection of the Park's fauna and flora, makes Kanha one of the most well maintained National Parks in Asia.

Kanha National Park, also known as Kanha Tiger Reserve, is a vast expanse of grassland and forest in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Tigers, jackals and wild pigs can be spotted in Kanha Meadows. The elevated plateau of Bamhnidadar is home to birds of prey. A vast number of animals found in this jungle include: Barasingha, Barking Deer (Muntjak), Chital, Gaur, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Langur, Leopard, Sambar, Indian Tree Shrew, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Wild Boar, Wild Dog, Small Indian Civet, Common Palm Civet, Nilgai, Indian Fox, Indian Wolf, Indian Porcupine & Flying Squirrel and many other species.

Animals often gather at the watering holes of Sondar Tank and Babathenga Tank. The park’s flora and fauna are documented in the park's Kanha Museum.

Nearest Airport: Jabalpur (160 km) & Nagpur (265 Km)
